Short of Z - McT, Terry and Drysdale... the whole damn team should be on the block..

That for sure includes Gibson also.

Oh well. The team is what it is. Don't think it's getting to much better without stopping the tank. So I guess next year is the plan for getting serious.

Mostly what's left this year is for coaches to show they're capable of of teaching this team. Eakins has the most to prove. He needs to show he can teach some defense.

The players are mostly a lock for next year. Trading more players right now wouldn't help the team next year. And you just can't keep tearing down. Even the UFA players can be resigned. Free agency doesn't look to appealing next year. Maybe a trade would help? So it'll be interesting to see how the Cap space gets used next year.

This year is toast. 26 games to burn through, then 2 months of playoffs just to get to the draft. That's the promised land. At least that's what some fans believe. Really I think free agency and trades can be just as impact full as our #1 draft pick. A couple of good moves can give the Ducks some much needed depth. Not to say the our top draft pick won't help. Just probably gonna have to wait after next year to see whoever we draft.
That said. I hope Ducks ownership spends some money. A good Coach and a couple of good player's plus extensions for Terry, Zegras is gonna cost them. Maybe not to the cap maximum. But definitely not being a cap floor team anymore. This season is such a waste. But thank goodness it's almost over.

Your thinking like we need to rebuild. The Ducks are done with that after this year. Ownership needs to raise the spending limit. And the Ducks front office needs to wash away all the negative energy that they built up while tanking. A good new coach, a couple of new players, some long term extensions for the young players will make a statement. They need a fresh start. No more half measures or fancy PR campaigns that do nothing to make this team better.

That I agree with. Coaching needs to go and you have the young core. Time to rework the roster around them. New fresh eyes and coaching and let them build and grow from there. PR is for the fans. They need to focus on roster and coaching and start going towards what will be the future.

How about flipping Henry Thrun to Buffalo for Michigan Goalie Erik Portillo? Maybe include a conditional 4th round pick for each team if one team is able to sign their acquired player while the other team fails to do so. Both players have been open about a lack of interest in signing with their respective team, due to lack of opportunity. Ducks could use a solid goaltending prospect and Sabres have a shallow pool of defensive prospects.
